Facebook Tuduh Kontrak Paul-Zuckerberg Palsu

Finding a new job: using networking to your benefit

If you’re looking for a job there many methods you can use to find one. You might pick up a copy of the neighborhood newspaper and call up all the job listings advertised. You could visit local businesses and fill out an employment application form. You can call up employers in your field and fax them a copy of your resume.

You can also network. At the most basic level networking means making a list of all the people you know. The list should be as comprehensive as possible. Call each person on your list and tell them politely that you’d like their help finding a new job. In the ideal situation your friend will be a business owner who needs to hire someone matching your qualifications right now. Most people don’t know many people who meet these criteria. But if the person you call doesn’t know a business owner then maybe they know someone who knows someone who does own one. If not perhaps they may know about a job opening in their company that hasn’t been widely publicized or they have a co-worker who’s about to go on maternity leave and they know the company hasn’t lined up a replacement yet. Or maybe they just saw a new help wanted add in the window of a store on the way to lunch.

When you get in touch with the people you know personally you’re not only contacting them you’re also tapping into their own personal network of friends and relatives. One of the finest ways to get introduced to a new potential boss is to get introduced enthusiastically by one of the boss’s good buddies. Your best friend could be the best way for you to get a new job.

Calling friends and family is not the only way to network. In addition to speaking to people in your own personal network you can also join professional organizations for personnel in your field of specialization. Look in the phone book to find information about organizations related to your desired job. Most organizations require a membership fee and others require a certain level of experience before you can join. The fee is often worth it because many organizations have periodic meetings you can attend where you can meet other people in your industry This kind of networking can be more advantageous than simply calling friends and relatives because you get to contact people who are already employed in the business where you would like to work. People who work in an industry usually know other people who work in that industry. If they aren’t looking to hire they may know someone who else who just happens to have a job opening.

Networking is one of the most effective means of finding a new job. There are several reasons why. The most important reason is that networking allows you to tap into the so-called hidden job market. The hidden job market is the unadvertised job market. This describes many jobs. The vast majority of employers do not use the help wanted section of the newspaper. They don’t do this for many reasons including the fact that a single classified add often attracts hundreds of applicants. Most employers would rather not wade through a flood of resumes and cover letters that may or many not meet the criteria they’re seeking. Instead what they will often do is post a small add on the company bulletin board about the job and then provide a financial incentive for an employee to help them fill it. Or they may call up friends or colleagues and ask them if they know of a promising candidate who is looking for work. This is beneficial for both the employer and employee. The employer can rely on the judgment of an employee who understands the company’s needs. The employee has the opportunity to work with someone they like. Supervisors know employees are unlikely to recommend someone who is unqualified or incompetent because this will not reflect well on them at work.

If you do decide to use this technique when looking for a job – and you should – there are several things you must keep in mind. First of all be as courteous as possible when you call others. Don’t abruptly jump in and ask for a job. Friends and relatives know you. This means they know your failings as well as your more impressive qualities. Don’t remind your sister-in-law that you’re always twenty minutes late any time you’re supposed to meet her or you failed math twice. The last thing anyone wants to do is suggest a new employee who gets fired a month later.

Networking should also work in reverse. If you spot an add in the newspaper about a job that would be a perfect match for someone you know e-mail it to them. If you meet someone looking for teenagers to help them over the summer give your next door neighbor’s daughter their card. Help others out. Be a contact.

Benefit others and you will benefit yourself.

Health Care Career Opportunities Growing as Baby Boomer Generation Ages

It was long feared that the aging of the baby boomer generation would bring about a healthcare crisis in the United States, and our nation’s politicians have planned accordingly. Cuts to Medicare and Medicaid benefits have been implemented several times over the last decade, and congress has recently proposed a package that would reduce benefits 40% over the next 9 years, while raising premiums 20%. Still, every cloud seems to indeed have a silver lining, as one positive to result from the increased burden to the health care system can be seen in the number of health industry jobs projected to become available over the next ten years. In the next ten years, the single fastest growing employment sector in the U.S. will be in gerontology and senior healthcare.

Still, a new problem emerges when considering the supply of trained healthcare workers vs. the number of adults whose aging is expected to increase the population of the 55 to 65 year old category over the next decade. Worker shortages for the healthcare industry are inevitable, which means career opportunities will be not only plentiful, but more lucrative overall as a result.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, healthcare related jobs are expected to grow faster than the national average for all other industries through 2014 and likely beyond. The nursing field, in particular, is the second fastest-growing occupation for job growth over the next decade. The number of current nursing professionals approaching retirement is growing far faster than the number of nursing program graduates, and recruitment efforts by healthcare organizations are already underway. Nursing salaries have risen substantially over the last several years, and increases are expected as competition for workers becomes more prevalent. Sign on bonuses that were once unheard of are now commonplace, and those entering the field have more options than ever in terms of the type of facility they wish to work in.

Home health care aid positions are expected to rise as well, with more and more Americans choosing to forgo assisted living options and instead remain independent. Jobs on the administrative end of the healthcare industry are also on the rise as insurance companies brace for the tide of health claims expected to hit the industry. As with all employment sectors that have a limited supply of qualified personnel and an increasing demand for them, wages and salaries will continue to rise until positions are filled.

Those entering college or technical school programs can find increased salary potential and job security in the healthcare sector. While the price of health care is rising, so are the potential employment opportunities in an industry that will struggle to meet the demands of the current aging population.

Career Counseling

Numerous opportunities have evolved in various domains over a period of time. Individuals have a wide choice when it comes to choosing the career of their choice. At the same time, a wide choice leads to confusion and people need help in choosing the right career that fits their interests, skills and personality. You can take the advice of a career consultant or career counselor to understand which field or domain you may choose based on your skills and personality to have a successful career.

Career counseling is a vast niche field that involves helping individuals to choose the right career option based on their individual interests, personality, skills and values. People who practice career counseling are known as career counselors or career counseling advisers. Career counseling comprises of career placement, career planning, learning strategies and student development.

Personality Evaluation

Some preliminary tests are conducted by career counselors to understand your psyche or personality. These tests comprise of various questions that will help the counselor understand your area of interest, skills, values and what kind of career excites you. There is no right or wrong answer in such tests; it is only a method of expressing your individuality.

Various types of career tests that determine your interests, personality, motivational factors and your aptitude help the counselor gain a better understanding of your career interests that may not be explicit. Each test is designed to provide them with the appropriate information so that they can give feedback that ensures you choose the ideal career and achieve career success.

Personality tests are the most common test used to specifically determine your inclination for a certain type of occupation or career. Such tests focus on the psychological aspects of an individual and measure your personal characteristics, emotional makeup and stability. It can also help you self-evaluate yourself and understand where you stand in the career planning process.

Intelligence Quotient

Depending on the choice of career you make, you also need to evaluate your IQ also known as Intelligence Quotient. Intelligence tests determine how smart you are, which is a prime indicator of your analytical skills, logical thinking and of course intelligence! Every organization looks for a smart worker rather than a hard worker as an employee. A smart or intelligent employee adds a lot of value to the organization by channelizing his/her individual objective towards the larger interests of the organization.

The Best Fit!

Career counseling primarily involves identifying the potential in an individual and mapping the same to an appropriate career or occupation in order to leverage the individual’s skills towards building a successful career. To put it simply, it is the process of finding the best fit and to make an informed career choice that suits an individual’s personality and skills. For example, an extrovert who can get along with people very easily can excel at a job that involves meeting and interacting with people. S/he can work very well in a team/ group. Alternately, an individual with an analytical mind who is good with numbers can excel in a banking job or any job that involves analysis and interpretation of financial data.

If you are someone who loves meeting different kinds of people and are good at analyzing and judging a person to a certain extent, and more importantly, can provide unbiased feedback and advice to individuals you can become a career counselor. Additionally, it is essential that you have a deep understanding of the dynamics of various domains and the current requirements in every industry in order to help aspiring freshers to shape themselves accordingly.

It is generally observed that individuals excel at something when they do it with a passion. It is vital that you enjoy what you do on a daily basis to perform well. The best way to choose your career is to speak to a career counselor to understand your strong points and to pursue your career in that direction. An informed decision is the best decision. Wishing you a very successful career and a job that you are happy doing!

Indoor Team Building Exercises and Workplace Culture

There are many reasons that the workplace culture may become disrupted or toxic. In a volatile economy many people are touched in a personal way by the fluctuating economy. Even when they are in secure jobs, the uncertainty of the economy often has a negative influence on a workforce. The issues become magnified when an organization must make adjustments in their infrastructure to accommodate the industry and have been forced to downsize in order to maintain their standing in the market.

Team building can take place in both formal settings or informal group setting within the workplace. When the exercises are in the form of games in which all employees in an organization participate, the location can play a pivotal role in the effectiveness of the exercises. Through creative strategic planning and preparation, it is possible for an organization to begin the necessary steps to develop a more healthy workplace culture in a non-threatening and positive environment.

Productivity is directly affected by the culture in a workplace. When the culture has no longer aligns with the needs of the organization, the automatic response is to try to change the actions or attitudes of individuals who have been identified as change agents. However, in most cases, each individual in an organization plays a role in defining the culture. To effectively change this environment, an organization must provide a positive, alternative culture that is easily conformed to and creates cohesion throughout all levels of the organization.

The methods used historically to change habits and influence attitudes has become less effective as more employees have become entrenched in a survival mentality. This mentality often is not conducive to productivity or excellence in the workplace.

For many individuals this workplace environment causes stress, anxiety, and lower productivity than occurs in a healthy environment. Therefore, it is important to identify the need to change the culture and make proactive plans to implement new change management strategies before the problem results in a decrease in profitability.

When working with a professional, the weaknesses, strengths, and gaps in the workplace culture will be discussed and identified. The indoor team building exercises that are planned will focus on the specific needs of the organization and stakeholders that will be able to generate the most positive changes in the organization and bring the entire group into alignment with the goals and objectives of the organization.

The planning process for the indoor team building exercises will focus on both the need of the organization to increase productivity and the needs of the individuals who make up the organization and will be critical in creating a successful, positive, profitable workplace culture. Through a three step process of planning, preparation, and execution that has been strategically set into place, an organization will begin to see the results they want within a short time.
